When Music Tells Stories: “Killer” and the Magic of Nathan O’Regan’s Voice

Killer” is a stunning new single from Irish singer-songwriter Nathan O’Regan. A country-blues hit driven by ringing guitars and the howl of a Hammond organ, it features O’Regan’s swaggering yet deeply soulful vocals.

The song was co-written by O’Regan and Belfast musician Gareth Dunlop, a close friend and mentor, and recorded at Attica Studios in Donegal, run by Villagers guitarist Tommy McLaughlin. The song’s theme emerged from a conversation about life partners. Effortlessly gliding between raw, passionate pleas and sweet, aching melodies, Nathan pairs his exquisite vocals with subtle, sophisticated songwriting. A born storyteller, his songs are rich with both melancholy and hope – captivating audiences across Ireland.
