The move from Colorado to Washington, D.C. marked a new chapter for Matt Grandbois for the first time, he found himself alone, far from his hometown, family, and familiar circle of friends. This abrupt change of scenery became not only an external shift but also an internal journey. Left alone with his thoughts and feelings, Matt had the opportunity to truly listen to himself. It was during this time that he turned back to music – it became a space of freedom, a way to express himself, and at the same time, a way to cope with his inner struggles.
Thus, the song “Moving On” was born – as an act of self-help, a conversation with himself, filled with the desire to overcome, let go, and move forward. It is a story of love, loss, the search for a new identity – a return to music, which had always been his quiet refuge and source of strength.
