23-year-old Marta Knight from Barcelona is the voice of a generation unafraid of solitude. Raised on the raw energy of Oasis, The Stone Roses, and The Smiths, and later drawn to the storytelling of Johnny Cash, Tracy Chapman, and Bob Dylan, she writes not for the charts, but for the 3 a.m. headphone crowd.
Her latest track, “Killing Time,” plays like an insomnia diary – a soundtrack for the in-between hours when everything feels possible and nothing makes sense. It’s music for those on the edge of falling in love or spiraling into another round of overthinking what the hell is going on with their lives.
