New single “Rush (Missing Out On Me)” (feat. cherry chola & Purient), the new club hypnosis by 1tbsp

There is a type of music that sounds like a late boarding for a flight without luggage. A bit of anxiety, a lot of anticipation, and the feeling that you’re on the road again. The Australian 1tbsp is exactly the kind of producer who turns travel into a genre. Behind the alias 1tbsp stands Maxwell Byrne, the very same guy who was once known as Golden Vessel. His creative journey is one of constant metamorphosis: from lyrical indie melodies to club sounds with a European vibe. In 2021, he launched his new project 1tbsp and since then has managed to establish himself as one of the most interesting producers on the Australian scene. Just a month ago, 1tbsp announced the release of a new EP under the intriguing title “Hotel Living.” And, like a true maestro of surprises, he immediately sparked interest with a vibrant track, “Wet Peak Stars,” featuring the hypnotic voice of the Mexican duo Meth Math. The result is bold, energetic, and very European – no wonder Maxwell drew inspiration from the club scenes of Berlin and London.

But not even two weeks passed before 1tbsp got back in touch – this time with a new track, “Rush (Missing Out On Me).” This is already the second single for the upcoming release. This time, he joins forces with two powerful artists: Cherry Chola (an Australian-Venezuelan singer with a vivid southern temperament) and the mysterious Australian performer Purient, whose music sounds as if it comes from another world. It’s hard not to get stuck on “Rush (Missing Out On Me)” with its pulsating rhythms, playful house beats, layered production and an enchanting mix of English and Spanish vocals, all of it turns the track into a transformative club experience. It’s like finding yourself somewhere between a party in Mexico City and a sunrise in Melbourne. The music seems to ask: “Are you here? Or are you still somewhere losing yourself in the past?”

And here’s a little secret. 1tbsp is about to hit the road as the May “Hotel Living / Australian Tour” is already starting, and in summer he’s headed to major venues across North America, opening for Disclosure in Salt Lake City and appearing at the Electric Forest and Shambhala festivals. Turn on “Rush (Missing Out On Me)” as it’s already available on all streaming platforms via the label Sumoclic. And keep your ears open, the EP “Hotel Living” is just around the corner. If there’s anyone who knows how to turn everyday life into the soundtrack of yours, it’s 1tbsp.
