Ruthie Craft is an indie-pop artist from Austin. Her voice is velvet turned inside out – scorched with soul and tenderness, attuned to the fractures of the human spirit and the flickers of light in the dark. Within her coexist two natures: the singer – sensual, vulnerable, fearless – and the director – coolly precise, compositionally flawless.
She recently released a new single, “Deja Vu” (Live). This piece marks a bold departure from her earlier lyricism, embracing a more dramatic, theatrical texture – evoking the tension of an opera rehearsal on the verge of collapse. And yet, everything remains crystal clear: each emotion is like a beam of light refracted through the prism of her sound.
