SAADI – the solo project of Syrian-American multidisciplinary artist Boshra Al-Saadi – presents the single “Gotcha!”. “Gotcha!” explores the temptations and darkness of organized religion, as well as our role in perpetuating its everyday horrors. The song is inspired by the music of Sierra Leonean artist Ahmed Janka Nabay and was created using analog synthesizers at Chris Coady’s studio in California.
Boshra Al-Saadi, originally from Damascus and raised in Pennsylvania, is a creative and resilient artist. Influenced by New York’s anti-folk scene, she co-founded Looker, performed with TEEN and Janka Nabay and the Bubu Gang on international stages. A diagnosis of muscular dystrophy did not stop her: now in Los Angeles, as SAADI, she writes and produces music, creates videos, and works in art.
