Bulgarian Cartrader is the project of Daniel Stoyanov, born in Sofia and raised in southern Germany, where street performances and occasional wedding gigs gradually led him to become an in-demand studio vocalist. Stoyanov’s music carries that very cultural mix: the vibrancy of the Balkans and the independence of the German indie scene. His voice is instantly recognizable – lively, slightly tipsy, with a touch of irony.
The new single “Toothpicks” feels like a spark of energy: a springy guitar line, a sunny rhythm, and lyrics about resisting the pull of routine. It’s the kind of track you put on repeat at the end of summer, when you’re not quite ready to let go of that sense of freedom and carefreeness.
