When the Voice Grips: Paul Schalda’s Sound in “Alarmist”

Paul Schalda – a poet with a wounded soul, a hopeless romantic, and the true spirit of Staten Island – returns with the powerful track “Alarmist.” This song is a reflection on life, where the sonic depth and breadth of the melodies blend seamlessly with the muted melancholy in his lyrics.

Co-writer and producer Jeff “Skin” Wade shared: “When Paul first sent the demo, I immediately knew it was something special. I felt the drive, and the entire journey from start to finish of the recording is one of my favorite moments. Robert Ellis’s guitar mastery shines throughout- his ideas add scale and depth to the track, enhancing the emotional charge of the lyrics. But the most powerful element is Paul’s vocals: emotional, gripping, making you feel every note. For me, this song is truly special.” Schalda’s voice – sometimes sharply captivating, sometimes full of hope and tenderness, sometimes raspy and intimate- keeps you on the edge of your emotions from start to finish.
