The Brooklyn duo Silver Liz have unveiled their new single “Through the Trees.” It all started with a demo Carrie recorded on her iPhone, playing an unplugged electric guitar. That accidental sound stuck with them so much that they decided to reprise the same approach in the studio- keeping the guitar “silent.”
Against that backdrop, lush synths and atmospheric drum hits come to life, and the whole melody hovers between domestic intimacy and cosmic spaciousness. The song unfolds like a film, each part a new scene in a romantic drama, before finally dissolving into a soft orchestral haze.
