A Moment Between Motion and Stillness: Colony House Release “Hummingbird”

For the band Colony House, music has always been about emotion and sincere rock’n’roll. The new single “Hummingbird” sounds like an important step forward: it’s calm, thoughtful, and a little sad. The hummingbird in it is a symbol of movement, hope, and inner searching.

Frontman Caleb Chapman says: “The song began with a light picking of chords as I was trying to find the words and melody. I was thinking about the hummingbird – how much strength it takes to stay in one place. At that moment, I was sitting in the yard and suddenly heard a buzzing sound. I looked up – a hummingbird was hovering right in front of me. It’s sometimes hard to understand which songs are worth chasing and which ones to let go.”
