After debuting with the sensual and vulnerable “High Wire,” singer and songwriter Ellie Heath returns with the ironic indie-pop anthem “Too Old (For This Shit).” A song about the eternal comedy of growing up, where fears and doubts coexist with self-irony and lightness. Heath gracefully transforms the anxiety of aging into a smile – after all, who said adulthood has to be serious?
In a playful yet sharp tone, the track tells about the age when you pay bills, follow rules, and still wait for the moment when you suddenly “become an adult.” “Basically, it’s a song about aging with humor,” laughs Ellie. “About the feeling of being a child in an adult shell, about trying to meet expectations, and about the fact that no one ever explains when exactly you finally become a ‘real grown-up.’”
