The duo Vansire from Minneapolis creates light indie-pop songs that seem modest in the spirit of the Midwest, yet at the same time intricate and memorable, capable of catching onto space and emotions without retreating into the background.
Their new single “For the Moment” is their calling card: warm, melancholic keyboards, ringing guitar parts, and casually delivered lyrics about lucid dreams and the passage of time. Augustin calls it “a kind of metamodernist tribute to the people who listen to us, and to those who are in a similar age range with us, finding comfort in the community and self-expression that music can give us, reflecting on how our lives have changed under the influence of forces beyond our control, but celebrating the connections that music can provide for us.”
