Coffee and Jazz: How Nick Stefanacci’s New Record ‘Secrets’ Became My New Favorite

I was sitting at my usual spot in the corner café, nursing a freshly brewed coffee. The aroma was comforting, blending with the mellow tones of jazz that filled the space. As I watched people hustle by the window, time seemed to stretch, softened by the music and the rhythmic patter of a light rain.

The music, a smooth jazz number, added an extra layer of relaxation to the atmosphere. Interested in the artist, I caught the eye of a server as they approached to refill my cup. “Who’s playing this jazz?” I asked, hoping to discover a new favorite.

The server smiled, “It’s Nick Stefanacci. A lot of our regulars like his stuff.” Intrigued, I pulled out my phone and started searching for Nick Stefanacci, eager to learn more about the music that had captured my afternoon so perfectly.

Nick Stefanacci is a true musical wizard, his versatility and virtuosity as he transitions between genres while maintaining his unique atmosphere are simply admirable. And now, Nick Stefanacci presents his new jazz project, the EP “Secrets” and I want to share what I heard with you.

“King Of Pop” – the first track in this six-track EP – is like adding a hint of cinnamon, vanilla, and fragrant pepper to hot coffee. The richness of sounds and rhythm creates a unique music, reminiscent of an exciting mix of aromas and flavors that awaken feelings and emotions. The rhythmic drum beats, pulsating bass lines, and vibrant saxophone solo create an atmosphere filled with movement. And this is just the beginning. The next track, “Mirrors” the first single presented by Nick, announces itself with incredible ease and grace. There’s something ineffably airy in these sounds, the music becomes a cloud, allowing us to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle and immerse ourselves in a world of memories. Nick’s saxophone draws with its languid and elegant sound, enveloping with soft charm.

I was particularly intrigued by the track “Christmas Eve” – it’s created for a romantic Christmas evening, when every moment is filled with hope and tenderness. The touching music of “Christmas Eve” is like champagne bubbles – it gently envelops with its sound, dispersing darkness and bringing light and joy. “Christmas Eve” performed by Rich Aveo, turns into a true vocal sensation, his powerful yet gentle voice carries into the world of Christmas miracles.

After the romantic Christmas evening comes the misty, fireplace-scented morning, which I saw after listening to the fourth track, “The Masquerade” Nick’s saxophone in this track sounds particularly special, with a certain mysterious charm. “The Masquerade” transports me into a mystical world of foggy reality, and I find myself at my own masquerade performance. This track features the outstanding pianist Carnell Harrell. Mel Brown on bass and Eric Valentine on drums join this exceptional lineup of artists.

The next track, “Fantasy” like the first track “King of Pop” places Nick Stefanacci at the forefront as the lead vocalist, showcasing his versatility as an artist and his ability to not confine himself to the boundaries of any specific style or genre. This track, like taking flight on the wings of imagination, allows to soar far from the everyday hustle and bustle and find ourselves in a world of desires.

“Secrets” the concluding track of this EP, in my opinion, offers a new perspective on Nick. His virtuoso saxophone playing not only reveals his musical mastery but also his inner world, thoughts, feelings, aspirations. But Nick’s biggest secret is his constant pursuit of something new. He doesn’t settle for what he has achieved; he always seeks something greater, something deeper. His creativity is not confined to one thing, it constantly evolves, revealing new facets of his talent.

Nick Stefanacci’s EP “Secrets” presents a stunning world of jazz music filled with emotions, virtuosity, and inspiration. Each track of this album is a separate story told through the sounds of saxophone, drums, bass, piano, and vocals. This release has proven to be a real treat for those who appreciate finely crafted music, offering a fresh and vibrant perspective on jazz.
