Daily sports activities help disconnect from worries, recharge with energy, and always keep oneself in shape. Music, on the other hand, aids in fully immersing into the workout, creating a kind of sonic cocoon that isolates from external irritants and sets the rhythm right. When I put on headphones and play my favorite playlist, each track becomes an impulse motivating me to move forward. The music pushes me to quicken my pace on the treadmill, while powerful bass helps sustain intense strength exercises. Today, my playlist expanded, all thanks to the indietronic rock duo Bromsen. The guys released their debut album “Brothers in Mind” with 11 tracks, each infused with great vibe. Bromsen duo from Berlin, Germany, consists of Richard and Karlo, who have known each other for over 20 years, making the decision to play together a natural one. They played together in their band The Pampelmuse, a period rich with performances in numerous indie rock clubs in Berlin. However, after the group disbanded, there was a period of silence. And now, Bromsen has triumphantly returned to the music scene, showcasing their unique blend of synthwave and rock elements.

The track “One by One” opens the album with powerful synth sounds, grabbing attention with its energy and strong message. The arrangement combines dynamic riffs and fierce percussion, emphasizing the strong synth mood. “One by One” is an excellent start, fueling interest and eagerly anticipating what comes next. “Merryman” transports listeners into a retro-futuristic atmosphere, reviving the sounds of 80s synthesizers and blending them with modern rhythms. “Merryman” boasts a pronounced dynamism: calm, smooth moments give way to explosive and rhythmic parts. The single sets the tone for the entire album and leaves listeners eager to hear more from Bromsen.
“Always On The Right Side” instantly changed my mood. The musical introduction, consisting of soft synthesizers, creates a sense of mystery. The vocalist’s performance, full of tender melancholy, perfectly captures the mood inspired by what the band themselves call a mystical nocturnal stroll along the London docks. Their voice seems to resonate with the whispers of urban secrets, weaving stories of hidden alleys and walks under softly illuminated street lamps. “Always ON The Right Side” showcases the duo’s mastery in creating atmosphere and conveying deep emotions through music.
The track “Someone” begins with soft rhythms, creating the atmosphere of a cozy dance hall where everyone can find their partner and feel a whirlwind of emotions. By the middle of the song, the soft rhythms gradually intensify, gaining new energy. “Someone” brings a necessary lightness to the album, thereby creating a balance between the tracks. “Read About It” is characterized by watercolor nuances, bright vocals, and delicate instrumental arrangements, which enhance the sensitivity of indie rock in this track.

The track “Catch,” created in collaboration with the German group PIXEL METH, presents captivating synth-pop. At its core, it reflects both the prospects and the dangers of artificial intelligence, adding an extra edge to the song, enhancing its sharpness. “Catch” creates an atmosphere of a troubled future, where technological progress is accompanied by uncertainty and danger. However, despite this anxiety, the track also emits a soothing effect, a kind of ambivalent feeling of inner conflict. “More Time” serves as the album’s final punctuation, underscoring its individuality. Bright synth pads, piercing guitars, and swaying drums create an astonishing backdrop. Powerful vocals combined with a choir intensify the atmosphere, full of passion and emotion. The outstanding arrangement, energy, and superb performance make “More Time” a true climax of the album.
Bromsen’s energy, accumulated over the years, is fully revealed in the album “Brothers in Mind” through experiments with synthesizers, memorable guitar riffs, and melodious phrases. The album offers a variety of sounds, blending musical genres, with each track possessing its own character. “Brothers in Mind” will be a discovery for many.
“Brothers in Mind” is available on all major streaming platforms, and music videos can be viewed on Bromsen’s official VEVO channel on YouTube.
