Toronto is ready for a new musical “storm,” and its name is Zoë Ferris. This young singer and songwriter is releasing her first single, “Pushing Daisies,” and if you haven’t heard this name yet, get ready because it will be everywhere soon. This track is a preview of her debut album, set to be released in April. Starting today, the single will be available on all digital platforms, complemented by a music video that will be released on YouTube on the same day. “Pushing Daisies” tells the story of those who tried to hold on to a relationship that should have ended long ago.

“Pushing Daisies” perfectly balances melancholy and tenderness, thanks to the masterfully crafted musical arrangement. Zoë’s vocal lines flow smoothly into one another, creating the effect of a gentle whisper. The melody organically combines indie and pop elements, with soft acoustic guitar riffs that emphasize the introspective atmosphere. Growing up in a small town in Eastern Ontario, she listened to her father’s stories about his band, dreaming of one day writing similar stories. The first step was a purple Hannah Montana guitar she received for her eighth birthday, and from there, everything spun like a romantic comedy plot.

Zoë began her creative journey with an acoustic guitar, but over time, her interests expanded, and she became actively involved in music production. This passion also inspired her to support the growth of female producers and songwriters in the music industry. In September 2025, Zoë will head to New York to continue her music education in Berklee’s graduate program for music production and songwriting. “Pushing Daisies” is her first attempt to secure a place in the playlists (and hearts) of listeners.
