The work of Helen Mac – a singer and songwriter from Manchester – has been influenced by ’80s pop heroes as well as more contemporary bands. As a member of Generation X, she also has a deep love for old-school house and dance music.
Her new track, “Undergone,” a song about liberation, was written during the breakup of Helen’s marriage. Mostly recorded at home before being completed in the studio, it reflects the courage required to break away from a controlling partner and start again from scratch. The song acknowledges past pain and embraces the freedom that followed.
