Cornelius Versa’s “Pull the Trigger” Fuses Cinematic Narratives and Powerful Country Beats

Cornelius Versa is a queer country artist from Detroit, Michigan. His musical heritage is deeply rooted in the unforgettable summer days spent with his family in the rural northern part of Michigan. It was there, in this quiet corner of the state, that he discovered his first musical influences: Johnny Cash, Duane Eddy, and Elvis. These icons, who became his heroes, often played in his grandfather Bud’s truck as they worked together, and their music left an indelible mark on his own artistry.

His new single, “Pull the Trigger,” is the result of a collaboration with producer Grayson DeWolf and singer-songwriter Emme. Recorded and mixed by Justin Hargett at Two Lane Studios, the track blends cinematic storytelling with polished production and anthemic energy. Cornelius masterfully creates an atmosphere that captivates from the first note, taking listeners into a world of his emotions, experiences, and aspirations.
