Zac Celinder, also known as Zac Williams, is a Danish musician, producer, and songwriter from Copenhagen. He plays anything that makes a sound and sings in four languages (including Spanish!). His style is a mix of soul, R&B, pop, and funk. He started out in the club scenes of Copenhagen and now collaborates with names like MonoNeon, Andrew Gouché, LIGA, and Dans’orkestret. His discography includes several landmark albums and EPs, such as “Inside Out“(2020),” Light Waves in Colour” (2020), “My Mind’s Design” (2022), “New Reasons” (2023), and the archival collection “From the Vault “(Vol. 1 & 2, 2024). Singles like “la atracción no es una elección” and “Miranda” became the forerunners of his new EP “amar aun más”.

The EP “amar aun más”, inspired by the Spanish language, it includes six very personal and sincere tracks. It’s his little musical gift to everyone who has been by his side on this journey. And, of course, to that one girl whose “hola, te extraño” still slightly echoes in his memory. Language, culture, feelings. All that’s left is to sing.
And he sings. The title track “amar aun más” opens the record, serving as an indicator of the EP’s stylistic direction. A delicate, almost inaudible melody with the aroma of traditional flamenco style on guitar and minimalism in the arrangement. But what impressed me the most was the incredible tenderness and expressiveness of the vocals. The smoothness of the sound and the subtle work with dynamics create a sense of lightness. In this exquisite simplicity lies real strength, and it is precisely this ability to work with the voice without overloading it, leaving space for emotions. The romantic “a luz te quiere “maintains the same subtle yet powerful emotional line as the title track. The guitar sound in this track undergoes a remarkable transformation: in the middle, the tempo and vibrations become more noticeable and accelerated, while by the end, they shift to stretched, fragmented phrases.

This dynamic creates a sense of dramatic development, allowing the instrument to accompany the vocals and become an independent expressive element, emphasizing the emotional twists of the track. Given the overall acoustic nature of the EP’s sound, “necesito un poco de amor” stands out with a richer instrumental palette and active use of backing vocals. This expansion of the sound space creates an effect of heightened emotional intensity and gives the track a more voluminous, layered sound, while the additional elements do not disrupt the overall intimate aesthetic of the release but, on the contrary, blend into it organically. It’s immediately worth noting the thoughtful balance of the EP, where fast tracks alternate with slower ones. In both cases, Zac demonstrates high professionalism and creativity.
Meanwhile, the track “andando sin cesar” is built around a soft acoustic guitar, its sound shimmering and flowing, intertwining in organic harmony with the enveloping bass sections. The vocals are warm and sincere, while the extremely delicate percussion, more like a whisper than a clear rhythm, adds an intimate touch. The recording sounds very convincing, and most importantly, Zac knows how to convey emotions with subtle, intuitive precision. This is especially evident in the track “a atracción no es una elección,” where the emotional trajectory is crafted with mastery: the beginning is restrained and calm, but by the end, the sound becomes sharper – bolder, more accentuated intonations emerge. This contrast is not accidental: it highlights the dramatic development and amplifies the tension. The melodies throughout the EP play with intimacy and a warm yet thought-provoking atmosphere. Perhaps this is why Zac chooses “sigo siendo feliz” as the final song – it sounds like a miniature emotional narrative. Such a cool, calm ending, leaving a pleasant aftertaste and charging you with a bit of optimism.
The musical and vocal performance offered by Zac Celinder in his new EP amar aun más” warms and slightly saddens. This is like a live acoustic performance, raw and unembellished. Zac deliberately avoided studio sterility so that his music would sound like an improvisation on a summer evening with a guitar. The release feels like a sort of signature from the artist, a mark of his work, where everything conveys the emotional subtlety of his music.
