Pablo Brooks Dances Through Desire and Denial in “Number One Girl”

Pablo Brooks, the 22-year-old pop artist from Germany, returns with his new track “Number One Girl” – a bold, ironic, and strikingly memorable song in which he offers his own take on the classic American high school fantasy. With his unique blend of high-energy indie pop and raw, emotionally charged lyrics, Brooks has won the hearts of Gen Z audiences across Europe and beyond. “Number One Girl” is a love story in the spirit of cult teen movies, but told through Pablo’s own lens – that of a small-town German teenager, passionate about art and forced to hide his identity.

The playful and rebellious energy of the song carries over into its official music video. In it, Pablo appears as a queer outsider in a small-town bar, where he catches the eye of Travis – the golden-boy jock. The video paints a vivid picture of desire, inner conflict, and ultimately, the liberation that comes with embracing who you truly are.
