I’ve always been drawn to the figure of the DJ at the decks, that person who can, with a single move, catch the mood of the entire room. Just Geo is exactly that kind of artist. Originally from South London, he’s a producer, DJ, and founder of the label Down The Road. His music is made to energize people: bouncing grooves, bright synths, and catchy vocal lines make his sets a true celebration of dance. One day, his mum came home with a huge box in shiny wrapping, he thought it would be a toy or a robot, but it turned out to be a synthesizer, a whole musical universe full of buttons and lights. At first, he just played around, pressing keys, listening to funny sounds. Then he started picking out melodies, composing his own stuff. His mum still tells him it was the best gift ever, it captured his attention for years. Later, Geo discovered music production software on the computer, and that was it, “he disappeared.” There were no limits anymore: he could build whole worlds out of sound. Since then, music has become a part of him.

Just Geo first made a name for himself back in 2016 with the release of “Sustain & Release”, and since then he has put out a wide range of tracks – from singles and EPs to full-length albums. For example, “TNTHY (Try Not to Hurt Yourself)” – a bold experiment where garage, house, techno, and grime came together. Over the years, Just Geo has become a well-known name on the UK scene and beyond. After a decade of meticulous work on sound, he presents a new album, the title of which sounds like an excited exclamation in itself: “this tunes deep, where’d you get this!?”. Many of the tracks from this release are already being played by DJs around the world, but now they’ve been brought together in one album. And the release is timed with an important event: Just Geo will be performing at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, where he’s playing two sets this month. So get your ears ready – it’s going to be great!
The release includes 26 tracks split across 2 discs. The first disc opens with the track “There He Goes”. It’s a club banger, fresh from Geo’s hands, with live samples and fun shout-outs from British music stars. Get ready – it bangs! The release also includes “Grace VIP”. It’s completely new and has never been officially released before, but has already caused a stir on dancefloors around the world. It’s been played at big festivals like Coachella, IMS, and many other top events. So this is a proven hit that’s finally reaching a wider audience! Be sure to check out the great track “Round the Houses” – a collaboration between Just Geo and pocket dream. The highlight of the first part of the release, in my opinion, is the rhythmically sharp “Destroy and Rebuild”. Fans of video games will definitely enjoy the meditative track “Trillions More”. I also recommend paying attention to the pulsing, euphoric-tinged “Snatched – Instrumental”. The finale of the first part of the release is entrusted by the artist to “Hunters Theme”, offering the listener a melodically expansive sound that smoothly transitions into the atmospheric track “Clockwork”, which opens the second part of the release. Compared to the first part, the second sounds more refined and melodic.
For example, the emotionally rich and textural “Blind Eye”. Or the stunning track “Valentine – the melody immediately transports you to a noisy London dancefloor – fast rhythm, sharp percussion, and vocal samples delivered as if they’re coming from the window of a 2000s pirate radio station. Stretching slightly beyond the melodic bounds of the second part are the tracks “Gorillas in the Bits” and “Dagger Jacker.” Their rhythm hits instantly – sharp, precise, with the characteristic garage-style “broken” beat. The beat leads you forward, while the synths seem to float through club fog. Smooth, groovy, and yet full of tension.

The release features a beautifully executed, spacious mix that doesn’t distract from the listening – it draws you in, wraps you in music where you catch new nuances. That’s probably why the full length of 1 hour and 33 minutes passes unnoticed. The final track, “Ibunk”, brings the whole release to a close. A clean sound with a touch of house and modern groove – where the beat moves confidently, the bass presses on your chest, and the synths scatter sparks. The track sounds like it was made for a night that shouldn’t end.
The release “this tunes deep, where’d you get this!?” by Just Geo turned out to be powerful: it’s a whole collection of cool tracks and hits where you can feel the pulse of legendary genres – UK Garage, Dubstep, Grime, and House. The artist has literally breathed new life into the iconic rhythms that once shook the dancefloors of Foggy Albion. He’s not afraid to introduce emotional modulations, making even strictly dance tracks personal and expressive. His own definition of a bold vibe is an attempt to maintain a fragile balance between form and feeling, groove and depth. All in all, this is the very same Geo fans love – and even more!
