The Brooklyn-based indie project Skinny Dippers, led by singer-songwriter Ryan Gross, presents the new single “Please Be Kind, Rewind.” Inspired by his childhood on the coast of Maine, the musician shapes a sound at the intersection of genres: guitar-driven indie rock intertwines with the warmth of analog synthesizers and layered choral harmonies.
“Please Be Kind, Rewind” is an indie folk-rock song about patience and caring for a loved one whom you are forced to watch during a gradual inner collapse. Built on an extended metaphor of gardening and growth, the song conveys the tension between two people striving to change everything but running out of space for new attempts. The track combines tenderness and friction, and the chorus звучит as a desperate plea: to slow down, be gentler, and give the feelings one more chance – even if it may already be too late.
