Emma Lucia and Ship Says Om Blend Folk, Ambient, and Scandinavian Aesthetics

Emma Lucia is an artist who brings together the musical traditions of Sweden and California. Her work moves effortlessly between melancholic folk, experimental ambient, and cinematic soundscapes. In her new release, “Ditt Hjärta,” recorded in collaboration with the ambient project Ship Says Om (Jenny Gillespie Mason), this aesthetic is expressed with particular subtlety. Natural sounds blend seamlessly with ambient synthesizers, guitars, piano, and delicate percussion, while the Swedish language adds a special warmth to the composition.

At the center of the sound is Lucia’s luminous, shimmering voice, creating a sense of openness and silence. “Ditt Hjärta” is a subtle and sincere composition about the moment when a new feeling is born.
