Kin Hana is the drone-folk project of Hudson Valley-based songwriter and guitarist Aaron Hodges. On the new track “Howling World,” intimate singer-songwriter textures meet doom metal and post-rock, with gentle passages giving way to bursts of feedback and heavy distortion.
According to Hodges, the song was inspired by René Magritte’s painting The Girl Eating a Bird and its strange contradiction – turning away from the world while simultaneously becoming part of it.
