Every part feels calibrated rather than thrown together It’s sleek. It’s loaded with style. Genres aren’t separated — they interact, shift roles, and build off one another. The production leans into contrast without losing coherence. MATTI keeps control of the mix and lets the energy speak for itself. Color me intrigued.
MATTI offers us just six tracks, but each one hits with force. The EP opens with “Nárnico,” immediately showcasing many of the record’s sonic signatures. Here, brassy synths collide with chaotic late-’90s rhythms and dreamy trance-inspired pads from the early 2000s. The track’s rhythmic foundation is steeped in atmospheric synth textures and layered electronics. The result is both danceable and emotional, tinged with retro flavor but unmistakably modern.
Next comes “#Trendiamos” – bold, sharp, and as confident as a runway slogan from an up-and-coming designer. Perfect for a drag queen show, a club catwalk, or a high-fashion performance where energy matters more than notes. It’s short, punchy, and knows exactly where it’s going – straight to a hot party where the neon shines brighter than the moon. Then comes “Cielo de Vainilla,” shifting closer to familiar sunny melodies from beachside parties. While the earlier tracks of” Kryptonita” pulse with a nocturnal, neon-urban aesthetic, here MATTI steps into the sunlight – to the shore, where the wind smells of the sea and something sweet, like vanilla ice cream melting down the glass. His vocals, playful, lightly husky, and warmly flirtatious, cast a hypnotic spell. It’s the kind of track you want to hear with the curtains drawn, sunlight brushing your skin, and the world shimmering in golden stillness.
In contrast, “Pásalo Pa K” stands out with its lightness and perfectly balanced contrast – between inner drama and dancefloor momentum, between street confession and cinematic melody. This is melodramatic drum-and-bass where MATTI’s delivery gains a conversational edge: it’s as though he’s speaking against the backdrop of a steady drip. Synthetic textures and smooth transitions between verses and chorus pull you in, and before you know it, your body is moving to the beat. And finally, the EP closes with its title track, “Kryptonita,” which draws from modern house and disco a reminder that every decision leading up to this moment has been intentional. MATTI could easily have made typical pop and blended in with a crowd of artists. But he chose to be original. The closing “Kryptonita,” like the final flicker of neon on an empty street, leaves behind the aftertaste of bold melancholy and velvety light, flickering somewhere between fantasy and reality.
The imagery, rhythms, and melodies of “Kryptonita” recall a city at dawn after a sleepless night – where the bassline of nocturnal euphoria still trembles in the air.
