Adriana Lucía, the renowned Colombian singer and songwriter and two-time Latin Grammy nominee, has released her single “Pueblerina” – a rhythmic blend of traditional cumbia and afrobeats. The song highlights pride in Latin American culture, combining Afro-Caribbean percussion patterns and cumbia’s call-and-response choruses with contemporary afrobeats rhythms and arrangements. Its lyrics explore the theme of returning to one’s roots.
Written by Adriana Lucía together with Andrés Parra and Jairo Barón, the track marks a new phase in her artistic journey: for more than 25 years she has explored and reinterpreted cultural identity, weaving together vallenato, champeta, porro, and cumbia.
