The musical project Phoenix.REM is essentially one person, a piano, and a stubborn dream that, apparently, has no intention of leaving until it gets what it wants. In the artist’s spare time, they are likely just trying to convince their dog that all of this actually makes sense – and that having a reason to be proud of its owner is, in fact, entirely justified.

The new track “Something New” is a melodic blend of Adult Contemporary, singer-songwriter, and light pop rock. It doesn’t make much noise, but instead carries a carefully shaped emotional tone, gently nudging the listener: “listen again – there’s something important here.”
