The sound of Mono Mochi feels surprisingly familiar, almost homely. They effortlessly drift between indie rock and dream pop, creating an intimate atmosphere while remaining entirely distinctive. The band from Lucerne, Switzerland, emerged from a desire to restore a human dimension to music – to give it space to grow and breathe. Working independently, Mono Mochi record their tracks on an old 1980s tape recorder, consciously embracing the warmth of analog sound, patience, and subtle imperfections.
Their music blends the expansive scope of The War On Drugs, the effortless cool of Mac DeMarco, and the soft nuance of Men I Trust. In their new track “Into The Dive,” all of this unfolds in a warm analog glow: the melody develops gently, while the lyrics balance quiet irony, tender melancholy, and an insatiable sense of wanderlust. Music that tries to prove nothing – and precisely because of that, it feels so convincing.
