Hotel Leo is a synth-pop project by musician Steven Roper from Kansas City, Missouri. Their sound blends dream pop, indie rock, and lo-fi aesthetics, creating soft, melodic, and slightly dreamy compositions with an introspective tone. Over the past few years, the project has steadily developed its own identity, releasing music that introduces new ideas and instrumental approaches.
The new single “Notes in the Door” is an upbeat indie pop/dream pop track about the moment when friendship begins to turn into something more. Alongside these feelings come vulnerability, doubt, and anxiety. The song is about finding the courage to say something important, taking the risk, and accepting the consequences. At the same time, it remains light, melodic, and emotionally engaging.
