Clarity that Comes Too Late: “Like Father, Like Son” by Hanna

Hanna Parish was born in Edmonton, studied in New York, and writes songs about things that are already understood but not yet fully articulated. The single “Like Father, Like Son” is a rock/alternative track about the moment when an inherited behavioral pattern emerges in someone you love. You recognize it in advance-and still choose to stay.

The song exists in a space between pain and clarity. The verses are restrained and self-critical “I should have seen it coming / ignored the warning signs”, while the chorus delivers the emotional peak of accumulated realization. Sonically, it is guitar-driven alternative rock with a gradual build in intensity and a theatrical sense of dynamics, reflecting her training at AMDA and her experience working at Electric Lady Studios in New York.
