Max Maryott and “Don’t Call Me”: Dance, R&B, and a Personal Confession in One Rhythm

Max Maryott is a Southern California–based artist who is steadily shaping his own sound at the intersection of pop, R&B, and dance music. His style leans into an intimate, almost tactile sonic language, where movement and emotion operate in the same rhythm.

This becomes especially clear on his new track “Don’t Call Me”: its calm, fluid storytelling makes personal experiences easy to grasp, while themes of love, desire, and self-discovery come through without unnecessary filters. Max has been connected to dance since childhood-he started at age six-and that physical expressiveness carries directly into his music. He only began releasing tracks in 2024, but is already establishing a distinct direction: one that sits between vulnerability and motion, where emotional honesty takes precedence over form.
