Music and a Little Jealousy: Trey Keeler’s Track “Bessie”

Trey Keeler is an independent pop artist who likes to have a hand in every part of the creative process, from the music itself to the visual side of his releases. His track, “Bessie,” grew out of a very real situation involving friendship, jealousy, an unexpected rival, and one particularly heated group call.

It all started with the feeling that someone had suddenly come between you and a close friend. But instead of turning the situation into heavy drama, Trey chose to approach it with humor and turned it into a light, confident pop track. In the song, he says exactly what was running through his mind at the time, without holding back. Trey also develops the visual style of his releases himself, creating concepts and ideas that help give each song its own distinct mood.
