“Bad Photo”: Tony Thames on the Beauty of Imperfection

We all have traits we sometimes wish we could change, yet those very traits are often what make us unique and special. What we dislike about ourselves can be someone else’s most attractive quality. That is what “Bad Photo,” the new track by Brooklyn-based artist Tony Thames, is all about.

Thames’ love for music began during a spontaneous trip to Texas, at a time when the chopped-and-screwed style was everywhere. Escaping the relentless Texas heat, he would retreat to a garage studio belonging to family friends. Fascinated by keyboards and electronic instruments, Tony developed his own musical language based on symbols and colors. With the release of his new track, Thames continues to evolve, exploring reflections on the past, present, and future, as well as themes of self-acceptance and self-love.
