Chloë Ester blends indie, shoegaze, bubblegrunge, and alternative rock, adding a touch of sarcasm and plenty of personal emotion. The Charlottesville-based musician isn’t afraid to speak openly about complicated feelings, vulnerability, and the experiences we want to turn into a beautiful story – and then leave behind as quickly as possible.
“I Could Be the One, Pt. 1” was written after a five-year relationship and captures the emotional state that follows a breakup. The track starts softly, with guitar and restrained drums, before gradually building into a powerful rock sound driven by distorted guitars, energetic drums, and rich vocal layers. It’s a song about trying to negotiate with fate when your mind already knows the answer, but your heart is still hoping for a miracle.
