“Dreamers in Exile” Voxtrot: Back with a New Perspective

The Texas indie pop/rock band Voxtrot return with their new track “Dreamers In Exile,” accompanied by a video directed by longtime collaborator Annie Gunn. The visual highlights the song’s personal core – a search for identity and creative refuge, shaped in part by frontman Ramesh Srivastava’s experience as a young gay man living away from home.

The track draws inspiration from the 1961 film Paris Blues, which follows jazz musicians living a bohemian life in Paris. That mood carries into the song, unfolding as a reflection on time, distance, and the desire to hold onto connection – with the past and with each other. “Dreamers in Exile” feels less like a comeback and more like a gentle redefinition of Voxtrot themselves.
