Vansire – the Minnesota-based duo of Josh Augustine and Sam Winemiller-craft soft, weightless indie pop. Beneath the apparent simplicity lies a careful attention to detail: their songs draw you in quietly, lingering in the air and gently filling the space.
“Atmospheric River” was recorded in Sam’s Portland studio during an actual atmospheric river – intense Pacific storms – and that damp, hazy mood seeps into every track. The lyrics lean into Pacific Northwest imagery, blending reflections on the end of the world with ideas of closeness and love. Eliza McLamb’s vocals add depth and warm, layered harmonies to the sound.
