The Return of The Outdoors: “Strange Articulation,” a New Chapter After a Long Break

The Outdoors – a Los Angeles band formed by childhood friends Donnie Stemp, Gary Schaaf and Sam Bird – present their new single “Strange Articulation.” This is their first new music since 2015. The track sounds like indie rock in the style of Radiohead and The National: tense, atmospheric, with melodic guitars, sharp drums, and mysterious vocals.

“Strange Articulation” is about how we try to speak to each other in a real way. About strange gestures, intonations, and “broken” articulation that appear when we are nervous and trying to establish a connection – honestly or not. A dynamic indie rock track with an alternative edge, bringing the band back after a long break and sounding both familiar and new.
