“Give Me More”: Softklub’s Dense Sound and Personal Story

Edmonton-based indie duo Softklub (Keenan Gregory and Mark Wojcicki) present their track “Give Me More,” built around feelings of longing, desire, and unresolved attachment. “It’s a story of yearning, unrequited love, and fixation on the past,” Keenan says. The track grew out of an instrumental demo created during the COVID isolation period and unexpectedly became the foundation of Softklub as a project. Mark originally envisioned restarting an old band and suggested adding piano, but Keenan recorded vocals instead, shifting the direction of the sound.

“Give Me More” combines an experimental approach with emotional cohesion. Inspired by live performances from The National, Mark built the track around layered percussion, guitars, and synthesizers, creating a dense, immersive sound designed for repeated listening.
