‘The Grind’ by Saint Micah: a Visual Story of Personal Transformation

Pop artist and virtuoso pianist Saint Micah (formerly Micah McLaurin) has released the official music video for his dance single “The Grind,” directed by visual artists and fashion photographers Domen and Van De Velde.

According to the directors, the video explores themes of identity and how one’s sense of self can be distorted under societal pressure. Through shifting characters and personas, they aimed to portray Saint Micah’s internal conflict in an honest and minimalist way, where simplicity amplifies emotional tension.

The artist’s music more broadly addresses the tension between imposed and authentic identity, reflecting his personal journey of moving beyond a religious upbringing and forming his own sense of self.
