T.R. Burge & The Temple officially formed in Manchester in 2024, although the band’s story began eight years earlier with a chance meeting between the musicians in Berlin. The current lineup consists of T.R. Burge, Aninka Rosa, Pete Leaver, and Frederic Lyenn Jacques. The band returns with the track “This Bird Is Flown,” created in Burge’s apartment in Manchester’s “Little Ireland” neighborhood. The lyrics are built around an image from a dream, later expanded with esoteric motifs.
The song is constantly shifting: tension builds and then subsides, giving way to contrasting musical passages. This dynamic approach was driven by violinist Aninka Rosa, who suggested making the band’s lyrics more expressive and layered.
