Fulton Lights’ new single, “A Little Bit Low,” brings together a sense of chaos and hope for renewal. The song’s starting point was the image of a pomegranate with its symbolic 613 seeds – corresponding to the number of mitzvot, or good deeds, in Jewish tradition.
The music moves from an almost desolate sound reminiscent of Earth’s Hex era and Ennio Morricone to dense guitars, spacey keyboards, marimba, and viola. By the end, everything comes together in an image of a world falling apart, even as something new begins to emerge – and goodness gradually spreads outward.
