“Steal My Heart”: Em Armstrong on a Heart That Shouldn’t Be Given Away Twice

You may remember Em Armstrong as your favorite former vocalist. Now, the artist is back with a new single, “Steal My Heart” – a passionate, energetic, and deeply personal track. The song explores a difficult moment after a breakup: when the person who walked away suddenly decides to come back just as you’ve started to heal. Against atmospheric alternative sounds and Em’s powerful vocals, the song captures a familiar inner conflict – between lingering attraction and the desire to finally protect yourself.

Em wrote “Steal My Heart” when she was in her early twenties, shortly after a breakup. The song was born out of bitterness and frustration: she watched someone close to her walk away, only for them to return at the very moment she had just begun to put herself back together. “You broke my heart, but now that I’ve fixed it, you want to steal it again,” Em explains.
