Songs of Solomon, the songwriting project of Solomon Machanick, has released the new dark country single “I Can Run This Heart.” The song tells the story of a man trying to outrun himself. “The man in this song could be anyone. Everybody has had a version of that drive, some part of your life you would rather keep moving than sit still with,” says Solomon Machanick.
Built around acoustic guitar, understated vocals, and a restrained arrangement, the song creates the atmosphere of a lonely night drive while leaving plenty of room for emotion. Despite its melancholic mood, “I Can Run This Heart” is not a story of despair. Instead, it reminds us that the most important journey begins not when we drive away, but when we finally stop running.
