Lee Neitzel plays alternative rock with elements of roots music – American music deeply rooted in traditional genres. After several years away from music, he returned to songwriting and recording, deciding not to put his dreams on hold any longer. Alongside a more organic and mature sound, his songs retain the edge that was characteristic of Transmission Fields.
His new track, “While I Sleep,” takes the listener into the shifting world of dreams, where reality can easily turn into fantasy and fear into yet another strange image. The song follows the logic of a dream, moving between flights, falls, unfamiliar spaces, and impossible journeys. Ultimately, it is less a song about sleep than about a mind that accepts everything happening around it as real, without question.
